Brilliant. This video created space for reflection, inquiry, understanding. Context is everything.

Thanks Kim. Context is fucking everything! See... that one felt out of place :)

I have a friend who grew up in a rough part of Montréal. His daughter Ashley is the same age as my son. One night my friend and I were cooking dinner together while our eight-year-olds played in the basement. My friend told me how important it was to him that Ashley knew how to swear. He said that having a street vocabulary at a young age got him out of some tough spots.

I love the alternatives you've mentioned, as I am not the best swearer/curser. I never learned to use them as a tool and when I do they seem to be either taken wrong or it's just confusing and awkward for everyone involved. Definitely food for thought. Great video...thanks!

I expected a lighthearted video but instead got taken deep. I’ve noticed myself unleashing F bombs more frequently as my work situation drives me to the brink. But I see, as you so clearly pointed out, that cursing is providing an emotional release of built up tension within me. What really resonated was how the recent and ongoing protests across the country are the manifestation of long held trauma that so many in society are suffering from. Deep shit. We could all benefit from a few more F bombs. We’re due.
